A Fantasmic! day

Our second day in the park was again a "double dipper" (in the park twice - both morning and afternoon). Day 4 of our vacation started out with a half-day in Disney's California Adventure. This time, it was over to the Hollywood Pictures Backlot area for an early showing (with a much shorter line) of Playhouse Disney - Live on Stage!, followed by the MuppetVision 3D show and the Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue ride.

Sean and Kayl love the Disney cartoons, and it was pretty cool to see the "live action" puppet versions of the shows.

Sean's favorite was My Friends Tigger & Pooh.

Kayl's favorite was the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

The kids had a great time!

When we were done with this area for the morning, we headed back to the hotel. After a quick lunch, we went down to the pool for an hour or so. Then, after the swim, we headed to the park and went back into Disney's California Adventure to catch the Pixar Play! Parade.

While we were scouting out our spots - look who we ran in to!!

Just three dudes hangin' out...

We also got this little 'magic' shot in front of the falls at Sunshine Plaza.

Here's Kayl making one of her video journal entries.

Sean was pretty jazzed to see Lightning McQueen leading the parade!

I thin it's cool how Disney incorporates all kinds of spectacular performers into its parades.

Crush looked a little tired swimming through the air...

I can't imagine how hot "Buzz" was up there - but he sprayed the crowd with water, so I'm thankful!

And Tow Mater came along with a clean-up crew at the end of the parade.

I didn't get any pictures, but after this we went over to Disneyland and headed for the New Orleans Square for the evening. We rode the Disneyland Railroad again to get there, then went through the Haunted Mansion (a little scary for the kids, but they did well), the Pirates of the Caribbean. We grabbed a little grub, and sat (and stood) and watched the multi-media marvel Fantasmic! This very cool show involves characters, music, smoke & lasers, water displays and fireworks - it was pretty, well, fantastic!
