Happy Birthday Kayl (and Annie)!!

The second part of our 4th day in the parks had two major portions - a character brunch in Goofy's Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel, and a birthday party at the Plaza Hotel in Disneyland.
First, we had brunch with the characters.


Baloo is one big, huggable 'papa bear'!


Kayl got up and did some dancing with Goofy.


Goofy also stopped by to see how the food was...


All the kids got to go and help Goofy bake a cake - it was a rowdy, dancing affair.


I'm not sure they ever actually got the recipe right...


After riding the Disneyland Monorail back to Tommorowland, we went to drive the cars at Autopia. Kayl got to drive with mom.


Sean got to drive with dad.


Since I was in front, I got a couple of pictures of Kayl driving. Does Mary look scared?

We then went and did the Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters arcade-style ride. The kids loved it, and we got to e-mail our scores back to us (although we've yet to find them in the inbox...), but I didn't take pictures.

After that, we went over to Adventureland and rode the Indiana Jones Adventure. This was a bit more wild and scary than we had anticipated, but we all survived it...


The next stop was the Jungle Cruise - Robb's favorite.

...and the hippos were not friendly!


Last stop before heading back to the Plaza Inn was the Enchanted Tiki Room. For a family tradition, we also included pineapple whip from the Tiki Juice Bar.

The rest of the afternoon was devoted to the celebration of Kayl's 8th birthday at the My Disneyland Birthday. While this was not actually her birthday, we were celebrating it. (Really we had two reasons for this: First, well, it's Disneyland, and who wouldn't want to celebrate there?; and Second, next week when her birthday really happens she'll be away at camp.)


The nice lady at the check-in gave Kayl an extra set of ears for her doll 'Annie' (who happens to also be celebrating her birthday).

Our host was the baker man Pat E. Cake, who led the singing and the cake decorating party.
